Marvin Charles Yancer of Saginaw

Passed away on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 84. Marvin was born on June 30th, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Raymond & Jessie Yancer, and was a student at Arthur Hill prior to enlisting in the United States Navy. Marvin spent his working years servicing machines for Profit Foods. He met the love of his life Barbara Tomasek at a drug store on Court Street while she was working. The couple shared 57 years of marriage together. She survives him. Marvin was an intelligent man who always stayed informed of current events by watching the news or by reading the Saginaw Newspaper. He is remembered as having a great personality and being friendly and conversational to everyone he met.

Marvin is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Barbara Yancer; sister-in-law Vickie Fiting; and nephews Trent Fiting & Trevor Fiting.

Marvin was predeceased by his daughter Heidi Yancer; and sister Mary Kay Turner.

A private committal service is to take place in accordance with Marvin’s wishes with Rev. Julie Bailee presiding. Those wishing to make a show of their sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Ascension Lutheran Church of Saginaw.
