Loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away in Saginaw, Michigan, on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023, at the age of 80. Mary Ann was born on July 26th, 1942, in Saginaw to the late William & Guadalupe (Isquierdo) Castanon. She married Felix Gomez Garcia, Jr. on May 2nd, 1959, and the two would spend over 44 years in marriage together. He preceded her in death in 2003. Mary Ann spent her working years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, retiring from Covenant HealthCare in 2003. In her free time, she loved to crochet, was a great cook, and enjoyed dancing. Mary Ann spent time playing bingo and liked to go to the casino. Most important to her was providing and caring for her family. She loved to spend time with her grandkids, family, and friends. Mary Ann will be remembered as a beautiful, loving, compassionate, and caring woman who was a caregiver to her husband and family. 

Mary Ann is survived by children Patricia (Glen Bogenrieder) Perez, Felix (Avelina) Garcia III, Christine (Ronnie Humpert) Garcia, and Veronica (Flavio) Lopez; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and siblings Sue Romero and Frank (Rose) Castanon; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Felix Garcia, Jr; daughter Linda Ann Garcia; grandson Feliz Santos Perez, Jr.; and siblings William Castanon, Jr., Reyna Garcia, Lupe Saucedo, Juan Joaquin Castanon, and Onesimo Castanon.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation is to take place. A memorial service for Mary Ann will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 28th, 2023, at W.L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw, with Rev. Peter Murdock presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 11:00am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Saginaw Valley United Pentecostal Church, 7877 Bell Rd. Birch Run, MI 48415.
