Mary DuLong Sowton Petoskey, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw Passed away March 19, 2015 at the age of 95 years. Mary was born in Bay City, Michigan, January 28, 1920 to the late James J. and Jennie (Armstrong) DuLong. She married Harry W. Sowton in 1947. He survives her. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Central Michigan University, Class of 1942. Mary had been a teacher in the Saginaw City School system, having taught at North Intermediate, Kempton and Miller schools. She also taught at fall Creek School in Indianapolis, IN. Mary was active in the Volunteer Literacy Program, P.E.O. Chapter E.Q., Alpha Delta Kappa and Questers. She was a member of First Congregational Church and served for many years on the Women's Fellowship Board. Mary is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Thayer (James) MacMeekin, Naubinway, MI; Robin (Richard) Feinberg, Marana, AZ; two grandchildren, Shelby (Mark) Gudger, Poulsbo, WA; James W. MacMeekin V, Naubinway, MI; three great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Robison, Bay City, MI; many nieces and nephews. Two sisters, two brothers, Agnes, Alice, Edward and Dr. John F. DuLong have predeceased her. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road from 10:00 a.m. until Noon.
