Mary E. Slater

Slater, Mary E. Bridgeport, Michigan Passed away peacefully with her family at her side Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the age of 77 years. Mary was born November 8, 1938 in Saginaw. The daughter of the late Howard and Helen (Hannay) Knodel. She married Duane E. "Duke" Slater in December of 1953. He predeceased her November 10, 2011. Surviving are her children; Debra (Jim) Sivey, Dennis (Lisa) Slater, Darin Slater, David (Maris) Slater and Dean (Melissa) Slater; 13 grandchildren; Joshua, Katrina, John, Justin, Jared, Kaitlyn, Michael, Shaun, Amy, Daniel, Dawson, Davin, Brylee; seven great-grandchildren; Ada, Jay, Micah, Jane, Drew, Isaac, Genevieve, Her Siblings the late David (Debbie) Knodel, Janet (Jim) Pinnell, Peter (Annette) Knodel. Special in-laws; Chub (Linda) Slater, Paul (Lil) Slater, Diane (Tom) Tomczak, Rich (Diane) Slater, Mary Anne (Lee) Rosbach and Charlotte Morgan; and many life-long friends. In accordance to Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Mary and Duane will take place this summer.
