Mary E. Pingel of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Samaritas Senior Living of Saginaw, with her family by her side. Mary E. Felzke was born on June 16, 1931, to the late Theodore and Susan (Inniger) Felzke in Clinton County, Watertown Township, Michigan (Dewitt/Lansing area). She was a 1950 graduate of Dewitt High School. Mary married Henry A. Pingel on November 24, 1954; he preceded her in death on April 24, 1985. They moved to Saginaw in 1954 and raised their four children here. Mary worked at Michigan Lutheran Seminary as a cook for many dedicated years of service until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her children and family.
Surviving are her children: Martin (Michelle) Pingel, of Niles; Susan (Jacob) Ross of Hemlock; Lisa Schulz of Saginaw; John (Rosie) Pingel of Debary, FL; 10 grandchildren: Tom (Angie) Pearson, Cydni (Chris) Kiggins, Tim (Holly) Ross, Adam (Chey) Ross, Sarah (Steve) Diener, Jim (Elizabeth) Roecker, Laura ( Scott) Zill, Kaitlyn Schulz, Gabe Pingel, Bella Pingel; 12 great-grandhchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael R. Pingel; her parents and sisters: Carolyn Morgan, Evelyn Fielder, and Louise Gugel.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 1020 Court Street. Rev. David Naumann will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church.
