Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at HealthSource of Saginaw. She was 83 years old. Mary Ellen Kreager was born on October 13, 1936, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Herman A. and Ellen (Buckley) Kreager. She was a proud 1954 graduate of Hemlock High School. Following graduation, Mary worked for Annies Restaurant as a server and Arlans Restaurant as a manager. She later began working as a cashier in the cafeteria at St. Lukes Hospital; retiring after over 20 years of service. Mary married the love of her life, Ronald Saumier on September 26, 1970; he survives her. She was a lifetime and faithful member of St. John Paul II Parish, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and a member of the St. Anne Altar Society. Mary loved the Holy Mother and felt the love and strength of reciting the rosary daily. She and her daughter, Connie, recited the rosary, holding it together on the morning of her passing. Mary enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino in Mt. Pleasant. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Marys favorite sitcom was "Everybody Loves Raymond" and she loved her stuffed dog, Brownie. While at HealthSource, Mary actively participated in many crafts, gatherings, events, and attended church services with her husband, Ron, and her daughter, Connie. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Mary will forever be remembered for her love to her husband and for being a kind, loving and caring mother and grandmother.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at HealthSource of Saginaw for all the love and care they provided to Mary and to all the friends she made over the years.
