Mary Ann Hart passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, in the arms of her loving family. Age 74 years.
The daughter of the late Felix and Virginia (Strozeski) Koroleski, Mary Ann was born on April 21, 1950, in Bad Axe, Michigan. She attended a one room schoolhouse until 8th grade and graduated from Bad Axe High School, Class of 1968. She moved to Saginaw to fulfill her lifelong dream of being a nurse. Mary Ann started at St. Luke’s Hospital that year and worked her way through nursing school. She proudly became an LPN and cared for many patients over the years in several departments at St. Luke’s and eventually Covenant. Mary Ann retired from Covenant 7 Main Harrison in 2005. She was respected by many colleagues and physicians. Mary Ann provided exceptional comfort to both patients and their families.
Mary Ann married the love of her life, Donald W. Hart on February 1, 1975. Don preceded her in death on May 25, 2021. She missed him greatly, and it is very fitting that she joined him in Heaven on their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Mary Ann was a long-time member of St. Matthew’s Church, Zilwaukee and when that parish closed, she became a member at St. Thomas Aquinas, Saginaw.
Together they raised their two daughters, Amy (John) Luna, Stephanie (Andrew) Dunn, all of Saginaw. Mary Ann loved the role of being Grandma most and would often say if she had known having grandchildren would be so much fun, she and Don would have started with grandchildren first. Cherished with her memory, she leaves behind six grandchildren, John Luna Jr., Brandon Luna, Lucas Luna, Eric Dunn, Emily Dunn, Ellie Dunn; sister-in-law, Gwen and Jim Grohoski of Fenton, whom she loved like a sister; three brothers-in-law, Dave and Pam Hart of Mason, MI; Floyd and Joanne Hart of Bay City, and Ed Hart of Flushing. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews that she loved. Besides her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Burns, and brother, Eugene Koroleski.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Covenant ER, 7 Main, Palliative Care, and Covenant SICU staff; especially Dr. Rania Esteitie; nurses, April, Sydney, Ebuka, Becky, and from Palliative Care, Chris and Chelsea; for their kind and compassionate care of Mary Ann.
Honoring Mary Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate with a Nightingale Tribute to follow by the Michigan Tri-City Nurse Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral chapel.
