Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the age of 95 years.
Mary was born on August 10, 1929, daughter of the late John Francis and Anna (Sullivan) McKenna, in Clare County, Michigan. She married Thomas James Bremer on January 21, 1956. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1998. She was a member of St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Church, serving on the Rosary Society and League of Catholic Women. Mary retired from the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center after many years of dedicated service. Along with Tom, they were the owners and operators of A.C. Klopf, Inc. leaving a reputable legacy in the Great Lakes Bay Region. She was a member of the Germania Town and Country Club, where she enjoyed family parties and bowling. Mary took pride in everything she had accomplished. Whether it was being a phenomenal bowler or employee, she earned the accolades with dedication and hard work. She enjoyed traveling the world with Tom and her sisters. Mary enjoyed flower gardening, baking delicious cookies, completing jigsaw and word search puzzles and playing games of Scrabble. Above all being an amazing mother and grandmother was her biggest joy. She loved and adored her grandchildren and will be remembered for her loving, compassionate spirit, big heart and sense of humor.
Surviving are her son, Edward J. Bremer; daughters, Anne M. Draper and Tracy H. (Victor) Barr; grandchildren, Heather (Scott) McRae, Camille (Daniel) Bowler, Victor T. Barr, Brendan T. Bremer and Brent E. Bremer; great grandchildren, Colton T. McRae, Dylan S. McRae, Adeline S. Bowler and Emerson R. Bowler; sisters, Margaret A. Flynn and Mildred Wells; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by an infant daughter, sister, Germaine (James) Dennis, brothers and their spouses, Francis (Arlene) McKenna, Mark (Eileen) McKenna, William (Betty) McKenna, Jerome (Virginia) McKenna and John McKenna; sister-in-law, C’Dale McKenna, brothers-in-law, John C.
