Mary Ann Jahnke
Saginaw, Township
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away Sunday July 7, 2024, at home. Age of 90 years. Mary Ann was born July 29, 1933, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late, Frederick and Flora (Novak) Ewald. Mary Ann was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary High School. She married Harold L. Jahnke on July 26, 1958, Harold predeceased her December 23, 2005. She was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Catholic Church. She was active in the P.T.O. at St. Helen Catholic School. Following High School Mary Ann worked for Sunshine Biscuit. She served as a secretary of Tri-City Life Underwriters Assoc. for many years. She retired from Irish and Associates. She loved traveling, knitting, reading and most of all, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Steven (Lisa) Jahnke, Linda (Mark) Jensen; her grandchildren; Sarah (Lucas) Bergholtz; Samantha (Roni) Bergholtz; Shelby Bergholtz; Jenna (Caleb) Dean; Kyle (Lauren) Jahnke; Matthew Jahnke; David Jahnke; Lauren Biere; Kagen Jensen; a great grandson, Jack Jahnke; a sister, Shirley Saltmarsh; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, a daughter, Barbara Jahnke, M.D, and a brother, Frederick Ewald, have predeceased her.
Funeral Mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 11, 2024, at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St Helen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Christopher Coman will officiate with burial in St Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 to 4:00p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 10, 2024, and then on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Catholic Church. Mary Ann’s family wish to thank the staff and caregivers of Homestead Health Care who took care of Mary Ann for so many years and American Hospice Nurse, Rachel.
