Mary Jo passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Brian’s House following a short illness. She was 83 years of age. Mary Jo was born on July 21, 1937 to the late William L. and Dorothy J. (Fairchild) Parrish in Charlevoix, Michigan. She graduated from Saginaw High, class of 1955. Mary Jo furthered her education at Saginaw Valley State University earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education, she graduated in 1979. She married Robert R. Adams on August 19, 1961 at Saginaw First Methodist Church.

Mary Jo taught at Swan Valley Great Start Readiness Program where she eventually retired from. She loved to read, travel and spend time with her granddaughters. Mary Jo especially enjoyed taking the girls out for lunch or dinner at Riverside Restaurant in Freeland following a shopping trip.

She is survived by her husband Robert and two daughters, Patricia (Ricardo) Salinas and Pamela (Richard) Stark. Also surviving her are granddaughters Mary, Molly and Patricia Stark. Her siblings William Parrish, Susan Brom, David Parrish and many nieces and nephews also survive her.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Parrish, sister in law Rose Parrish and brother in law Henry Brom.

A private family burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery to honor Mary Jo’s life. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society. The family of Mary Jo also asks that you donate books to a local school of your choice in her honor.
