Mary Louise Kennedy (Booth)

Loving mother, grandmother, and sister left us unexpectedly on Monday, February 26^th, 2024, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 82. Mary was born in Saginaw on December 4^th, 1941, to the late Bernard Booth & Evelyn (Denoma) and was a 1959 graduate of Saginaw High School. She spent her life sharing her love through her cooking, working in food service at Hoyt Nursing Home and as a caterer within the Saginaw community, as well as serving as something of an internal “meals on wheels” within the South Colony residence. She also used these talents at West Michigan Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was a longstanding member and volunteer. In her free time, Mary crocheted, enjoyed playing poker, and loved puzzle games so much that she had a memorial puzzle table dedicated to her at South Colony. She is remembered as being unapologetically herself and honest to a fault, but kind and generous above all else. She was quiet at times but wore her heart on her sleeve and will be greatly missed by the countless loved ones she impacted throughout her years. 

Mary is survived by children Deborah (Darrin) Davis, Ronald Preston Jr., and Jodi (Wendell Johnson) Peters; grandchildren Brandon Donaghy, Angel (Andy) McDaniel, and Melonie Preston; three great grandchildren; siblings Kay Warren, Marjorie (Fred) Duletzke, Patty (Raymond Whitaker) Giancola, John Denoma, Michelle (Richard) Blizzard, Vickie Canada, Janice (Meredith) Hockenburry, and Tim (Darlene) Booth; special nephew Jeff Denoma; and special niece Becki Lorimer; as well as a huge family full of many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, friends, and her loving cat Mr. Daisy.

Mary was preceded in death by first husband Ronald Preston Sr. and siblings Butch Booth, Kathy Searles, Connie Dashiak, and Wayne Wendt.  

A funeral service for Mary will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 2^nd, 2024, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, with Rev. Jim Doran presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 12:00pm until the time of service, with cremation to follow at a later date.
