Mary L. Krause

Mary L. Krause, born on August 29, 1948, in Saginaw, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Saginaw. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Mary Young married to Lawrence Krause in September of 1968, and together they built a life filled with joy and laughter. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Harvey and Anna (Unger) Young, and her son Mark J. Krause, who have been lovingly remembered by all who knew them.

Mary’s vibrant personality was evident in all her pursuits. She dedicated herself to her community as a Boy Scout Leader. She used her creativity to teach Art Goes to School in the Saginaw Area, where she shared her artistic talents and passion for the arts with many. An avid lover of the outdoors, Mary enjoyed camping and swimming, often found embracing nature's wonders. Mary cherished every moment spent with family and friends. 

She is survived by her daughter Christine Hutchinson; her son Brad (Julie) Krause; grandchildren Christopher (Savannah) Hutchinson II, Robert (Megan VanOchten) Hutchinson; and great-grandchildren Raymond Killips, Christopher Hutchinson III, and Claire Hutchinson. Mary also leaves behind her brother-in-law Loren (Trina) Krause; sister-in-law Sharon Schoenow; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will remember her fondly.

Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at the funeral chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
