Mary Lentz Piening

Mary Lentz Piening Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. Age 95 years. The daughter of the late Isabelle (Trombley) and Estey Lentz was born Mary 12, 1921 in Standish, Michigan. She was married to Lawrence (Larry) Piening, January 12, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan. He passed away February 28, 2010. Mary worked as a registered nurse for several years, and maintained an interest in health care practices throughout her life. She was a family-oriented person, which included an interest in genealogy and a delight in keeping in contact with relatives and friends from near and far. She and Larry were longtime members of First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. They enjoyed square dancing with the "Paws and Taws" square dance club. Mary also enjoyed spending time with her "Red Hat" friends and with a group of local poets. Mary's most recent residence was the Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre, where she took a lively interest in the lives and careers of the staff. Surviving are two children, David Piening, Saginaw, MI; Carol Piening (Eric Schlorff) Olympia, Washington. In accordance with Mary's wishes, funeral and burial services will be private.
