Mary (May) Keane Hemlock, Michigan Formerly of Ithaca, New York Passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012. Age 86 years. The daughter of the late Marion (Gray) and John Black was born in Glasglow, Scotland. She served as a Purser with the British Navy. She came to the United States on the Queen Mary in 1949 and lived for many years in the Ithaca, New York area. She married William Richard Keane, June 30, 1950. He passed away March 11, 1989. She had been employed by Avon and General Electric Co. She enjoyed plants, flowers and gardening and was active in the Garden Club. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of Scotia. Surviving are three children, Danny Keane and his wife, Chris, Hemlock, MI. with whom she made her home the past two years; Diane Keane and her husband, Phil Martin, Fairbanks, Indiana; Donna Keane Fischer, Hemlock, MI; 5 grandchildren, Heather ( Mike) Graham, El Paso, TX; Karen Keane, Las Vegas, NV; Laura (Gabe) Faubert, Hemlock, MI; Marshall Fischer, California; McKenna Fischer, Hemlock, MI; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Three sisters and one brother, Margaret (Peggy) Peers, Cathy Kennedy, Marion DeJohn, and James Black have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Rob Richards and Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Hemlock. Friends may call at the Chapel from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 until the time of the funeral service.
