Mary Lee Popp of Hemlock, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was 83 years old. Mary Lee Dalton was born on September 28, 1941, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Neil and Agnes (Konecny) Dalton. She was a proud graduate of St. Charles High School. She met her future husband, Charles Leonard Popp, while in attendance at a dance at the Golden Glow. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 29, 1962; he preceded her in death on November 21, 2023. The role of her lifetime was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved being able to stay at home and raise her children. When the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came, her heart was full. She loved them beyond measure and created special bonds with each and everyone of them. She will forever be remembered for sitting on the porch watching the birds and traffic, selflessly loving her family, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are two children: Charlie (Sue) Popp of Hemlock; Patty (Chris) Spiekerman of Reese; three grandchildren: Jessica (Dalton) Gage; Jamie Popp; and Zackery Spiekerman; two great-grandchildren: Jacoby Gage and Easton Gage; a sister-in-law, Dawn Dalton of Hemlock. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Popp; parent, Neil and Agnes Dalton; and a brother, Robert Dalton.
