Mary passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the age of 93 years. She was born on January 21, 1928 to the late John and Rose (Bommarito) Morello in Detroit, Michigan. Mary graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1945.
She is a lifetime member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish (St. Helen Catholic Church) where she was part of the funeral dinner committee for many years. Mary was also a member of Sons of Italy. She was employed at Ray’s Food Fair, retiring after 20 years of service. She also spent some of her working years in production at Lufkin Rule. Mary enjoyed bowling and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. Above all she was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her four daughters: Rosemary (Jon) Wade of Saginaw, Michigan, Theresa (Paul) Sawicki of Belmont, Michigan, Jacqueline Willis of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Maureen (Jay) Pluger of Hudsonville, Michigan, grandchildren: Brooklyn Pluger, Jason (Sara) Pluger, Spencer Pluger, Stephani (Christopher) Carlson, Elliott Sawicki and Cameron Sawicki. Her siblings Catherine (Joe) Samuel, Margaret Bruggeman and Ann (Chris) Dulski also survive her.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Frank (Lois) Morello, Joseph (Doris) Morello and Sam (Carol) Morello.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish (St. Helen Catholic Church) (2445 N. Charles St, Saginaw). Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate. Honoring Mary’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at W.L. Case and Company (4480 Mackinaw Road) from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and at church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. A Rosary service will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 4:00 pm at W. L. Case and Company (4480 Mackinaw, Road). Due to the world wide health pandemic, building capacity is limited, face coverings are required and social distancing will be encouraged.
