Mavis I. Martin

Mavis I. Martin Hemlock, Michigan Beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Cartwright Care Center surrounded by her family. Age 86 years. The daughter of the late Myrtle (Sly) and Guy Bartlett was born June 5, 1928 in Saginaw. She married Frank I. Martin, June 18, 1949, together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. He passed away August 10, 2012. Mavis was employed by Michigan National Bank for 18 years. She had been a member of Hemlock United Methodist church, enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Lakefield Quilting club. She also participated in the Gay 90's with her husband. She enjoyed baking with her grandchildren. Mavis had many friends. Surviving are three children, Donna Stacey, Henry (Lorain) Martin and Frank Martin, Jr.; eight grandchildren, Tammey (Shawn) Watson, Enoch (Tier) Davis, Matt (Abbe) Davis, Misty Polzin, Jason Schultz, Nick Schultz, Ashley (Greg) Bringer and Lindsay Martin; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Mary Ellen Bartlett; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Davis. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Michael W. Vollmer will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Chapel from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
