Maxine Marie Davis of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, September 7, 2020, at Union Court Assisted Living in St. Charles. She was 90 years old. Maxine Marie Buckey was born on October 10, 1929, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late James Carson and Maude (Wagoner) Buckey. She married Adelbert R. Davis on July 12, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan; he preceded her in death on August 10, 2016. Throughout her life, Maxine had a love and affinity for all animals, especially cats. She was kind, gentle, and compassionate to everyone she loved and to the many animals she treasured and cherished over the years. Maxine also enjoyed participating in various activities within the assisted living community, Bingo and listening to singers were among her favorite. She will forever be remembered for her selflessness and her beautiful and altruistic soul.
Surviving are a son and a daughter: James Davis and his wife, Susanne Smokoska of Saginaw; Carol Tift and her husband, Bob of Saginaw; three grandchildren: Matthew (Tessie) Tift, Sandra (Nathan) Dvorak, Will Smokoska-Davis; three great-grandchildren: Hayden Tift, Colin and Elliot Dvorak. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Carrie Tift; and four brothers and a sister.
A private funeral service has taken place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
