Melissa Marie (Vervinck) Wood, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, due to injuries from an auto accident. 

Melissa was born on December 14, 1986, in Saginaw, Michigan to Richard Vervinck and Shawn Cronk. She was a cherished and beloved wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and aunt.

Melissa led a remarkable life, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She graduated from Arthur High School as part of the class of 2005. Melissa further honed her skills at Dorsey College, obtaining certification in Medical Billing. She was united in marriage to Jeremy W. Wood on October 8, 2016.

Melissa was a beloved employee of Dexios Corporation for over 11 years. She began her career as a Billing Specialist. Through hard work and dedication she excelled to become the Senior Director of Operations. Her commitment, work ethic and leadership were exemplary, earning her admiration and respect by her colleagues and peers. Melissa's kindness, laughter, and playful spirit consistently brought a positive energy to every room. In mourning her loss, Melissa is survived by several of her close peers who admired and cherished her: Kyle (LeAnn) Tucker, Ginna Tucker, Billie Artcliff, Bryanna Myles, Nicole Tredway, Courtney Lake and all of the Dexios staff.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Melissa's interests and hobbies painted a vibrant picture of her personality. She had a deep love for sports, particularly softball and volleyball. Her competitive spirit and love for the game brought joy to those around her and created cherished memories that will be fondly remembered. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and never missed their sporting events.

Melissa will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, professionalism, and genuine warmth that will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. In her passing, we remember her infectious smile, her unwavering positivity, and her compassionate heart.

Melissa is survived by her husband Jeremy W. Wood; her father Richard (Cassie) Vervinck and her mother Shawn (Jerry) Cronk; grandmother Marlene O'Farrell; grandfather Harold Vervinck; two brothers Michael (Monique) Vervinck and Mitchell (Marissa) Vervinck; nieces and nephews Owen, Chase, Caleb, Oaklynn, and Otto; aunt Dawn (Brad) Rhodes; and her mother-in-law Ruth Wood.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandmother Gloria Vervinck.

While we grieve the loss of Melissa, we take solace in the memories we shared with her and the profound impact she had on our lives. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was loved and valued by many.

Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, where friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Ordained Daniel T.
