Wagner, Michael George Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, Papa, brother and uncle, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Select Specialty, following a four-month illness. Age 73 years. He was born December 14, 1942, in Saginaw, the son of the late Marvin and June (Gray) Wagner. After graduating from high school, he served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors after over 30 years of service, and then was employed by Teachout Security. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Amelith. He had been a member of the Carrollton-Zilwaukee Eagles. He enjoyed bowling, singing, Karaoke, and dancing. He especially loved time spent with his grandchildren. He married Mary Hetzner on May 18, 1991; she survives him. He also leaves two daughters, two sons, a step-daughter and step-son, their spouses and their children: son, James Arnst, Saginaw; daughter, Kimberly (Dan) Scott, and their children Austin, Gabrielle and Autumn, Bay City; son, Scott (Dayna) Wagner, and their children, Emily and Chase, Saginaw; daughter, Jessica Wagner and (fianc, Bryan Alaniz), and her children Daniel, David, Emily, and Ella; step-daughter, Sarah (Pat) Monroe, and children, Devin, Abel and Myra, Birch Run; step-son, Aaron Bailey, and his son, Landon, Saginaw. Another daughter, Wendy Wagner, passed away at birth. He also leaves two sisters, Patricia (Bob) Zill; Shelly Wagner; brother, Tim (Jan) Wagner; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark (Doreen) Hetzner; Betty (Kim) Herbolsheimer; Dan Hetzner; many nieces, nephews, and their families; and two good friends, Dave Mell and Thomas Wagnon. He was also predeceased by a brother-in-law, Paul Hetzner. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church, Amelith, 1664 Amelith Road, Bay City. Rev. Stephen P. Starke will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery. Military honors will be under the auspices of VFW Post #1566. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and 1:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and then at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
