Beloved Husband, Father and Papa passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 26, 2021; at the age of 64 years.
The son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Martell) McCabe, Mike was born on March 25, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School with the class of 1975. Mike then continued his education at Northern Michigan University, Marquette, MI. He was the proud founder and former owner of M.J. McCabe's Food and Spirits. Mike was a life-long salesman, currently working as a Systems Engineer for Air Technologies for many years of dedicated service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Fordney Club, The One Hundred Club and Huron Breeze Golf Club. Mike enjoyed golfing, bowling, and bird-hunting. He also loved cooking and entertaining for his family and friends. Mike was a loyal Michigan State Spartans fan. Above all, Mike cherished the time spent with his loved ones, especially at the family cottage in Au Gres.
Surviving are his wife, Jill Ann (Bauman) McCabe; two daughters and one son: Shannon (Daniel) Bitman, Brendon (Brittney) McCabe, Kelsey McCabe (Jason Jones); mother of his children: Linda Doerr; two step-sons: Joe Bauman, Todd (Vanessa) Bauman; four grandchildren: Jalynn Bauman; Elsie, Bryce, Forrest Bauman; two sisters: Mary (Joe) McDonald, Ann McCabe. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48609. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Private Rite of Committal will take place at Whitney Sims Township Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, 48609, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the funeral chapel, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday. A Time of Sharing will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the funeral chapel. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Wounded Warrior Project.
