Michael James "Mike" Brewer

Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. He was 44 years old. Michael James Brewer was born on May 21, 1975, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Robert J. and Lois E. (James) Brewer. Mike held various jobs throughout his life, but had most recently worked as a cook for Tonys in Birch Run. He could fix anything with his mechanical mind; he was also a gifted woodworker. Mike also enjoyed gardening and landscaping and took great pride in the work he accomplished. He was also very interested in CB radios. Mike was a gifted and talented artist, able to draw very detailed portraits of people. He will forever be remembered for his selflessness and generosity to people in need. Surviving are a son and a daughter: Austin Michael Stafford of Paulding, OH; Shelly Nicole (Caleb) Briskey of Paulding, OH; a granddaughter, Charlotte Briskey of Paulding, OH; two brothers and three sisters: Robert Brewer and Larry Brewer of Burt; Constance (David) Hornstein of Madison Heights; Deborah Brewer of Saginaw; and Sharon Brewer of Saginaw; and a brother-in-law, James Cooper of Bridgeport. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by two siblings: Gary L. Brewer and Elaine Ann Cooper. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. Kenneth Streeter will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Albee Township. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o Sharon Brewer.
