Rick, Michael L. "Papa" Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, "Papa", son, brother and uncle, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the age of 63 years. He was born May 14, 1953, in Saginaw, and graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1971. He married Sharon Eddy on April 20, 1973; she survives him. Mike had worked in law enforcement in Vassar, Tuscola County and Saginaw County for 10 years. Mike and Sharon operated an adult foster care home for 17 years. Mike served the Lord as an ordained minister. For the past several years, he was also employed at Nexteer Plant 6. He was a member of UAW Local 699 and served as one of its Plant Chaplains. He attended Old Town Christian Outreach. Mike loved music and played bass. He was an artist, enjoyed woodworking, wrote poetry and stories, and loved reading. He especially loved being "Papa" to his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Sharon Rick; two daughters, two sons and their spouses: Sarah and Matthew Rice, Laura and Christopher Hart, Michael Andrew and Christina Rick, and Steven and Anita Rick; eight grandchildren: Elijah, Selah, and Michael Rice; Jonathan, Daniel and David Hart; Kyla Vasold and Megan Rick; his mother, Laura Lahrman; three brothers and one sister: Emil "Rick" and Shawn Rick, Robert Rick, Gary Rick and Laura Rick; his parents-in-law, Roy and Jean Eddy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Stephen and Ronda Eddy, Jean and John Hofmann; another brother-in-law and his wife, Mark and Leroux Seney; many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by his father, Emil Rick; his step-father, Raymond Lahrman; and his sister-in-law, Gloria Seney. Following Mike's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Old Town Christian Outreach, 600 Gratiot Street, where his family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of service. Rev. Donald Dinninger will officiate. Private committal will take place later.
