Michael Lawrence Putnam Saginaw, Michigan Suddenly passed away at home from congestive heart failure on Monday, March 21, 2016. The son of late Dorothy (Sherbino) Canel and Harry Putnam Jr. was born April 2, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was married to Barbara J. Pfund on December 1, 1979. She survives him, along with his children, Natalie J. (Nicholas) Murray of Virginia Beach, VA, Douglas M. Putnam of Wichita, KS, and Stephanie T. Putnam of East Lansing, MI, as well as his grandchildren, Emily and Margaret Murray. He is also survived by his brother, Mark (Sally) Putnam, his step-mother, Connie Putnam, his step-brother, Brad (Sherri) Lewinski, step-sister, Lisa Myers, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his sister, Marsha S. Porath. Mike graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1973, and he went on to graduate from Central Michigan University in 1977. He was a successful underwriter with Federal Home Life Insurance, Putnam, Putnam, Porath and Associates, and Future Insurance Agency. He was a proud member of the Saginaw Life Underwriters Association and the Fordney Club. He was also a spirited member of the St. Thomas Aquinas and Nouvel Catholic Central family. Mike most enjoyed time with family and friends, music, playing his guitar, and was often the life of the party. He was most proud of his children, whom he cherished and adored. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Team for their kindness throughout the duration of his care. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Robert Richards will officiate. His family will receive friends from 3:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday, with a time of sharing to take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Family and friends may also call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
