Michael "Mike" Jay Paxton

Michael “Mike” Jay Paxton of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the age of 60. Michael Jay Paxton was born on December 8, 1963, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Douglas J. and Charlotte Ruth (Canell) Paxton. While in school, Mike played the trombone and was also actively involved in The Saginaires Drum & Bugle Corps; proudly graduating from Carrollton High School with the class of 1982. Following graduation, he moved to Wyoming, near his brothers, Don and Charlie, and worked in the oil fields. Mike also lived in California for two years. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout his life, Mike was giving and generous, often giving small gifts to his family and friends. He had a wry sense of humor, enjoyed playing Euchre, and cherished his family. Mike loved his siblings, nieces, and nephews and looked forward to visiting and camping with them.

Surviving are a sister and three brothers: Mickey Lynn (Douglas) Vermillion; Mark Forrest (Susan) Paxton; Donald James (Michelle) Paxton; and Laurence Bert (Victoria) Paxton; a daughter, Dayna Lynn (Christopher) Walters of Caro; and a Big Brother, Dale Sieggreen of Freeland. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, too numerous to list, but held closely to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas J. and Charlotte Ruth Paxton; and a brother, Charles Douglas Paxton.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603.
