Michael “Mike” Winter of Alger, Michigan
Beloved father and grandfather passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He was 72 years old. Mike was born on December 28, 1948, in Bad Axe, Michigan, to the late Herman and Hope (Dutcher) Winter. He was employed with Saginaw Steering Gear (General Motors), retiring in 1998, as a supervisor with 30 years of loyal and dedicated service. Mike had a passion for cars, especially Ford vehicles. He was a gifted woodworker and enjoyed cutting wood. Above all, he treasured and cherished his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Mike will forever be remembered for his selflessness to those he loved, his innate ability to listen and give wise advice, and for the unconditional love he had for his family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Allyson Smith of New Jersey; Matthew (Kristy) Winter of Virginia; six grandchildren: Danielle Smith, Scott Smith, Samantha Smith, Marlee Winter, Aubree Winter, and Gavin Winter. Also surviving are many loving and caring friends.
Honoring Mike’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration will take place at the family home at a later date.
