Michael Robert Schmidt Auburn, MI Previous Resident of Saginaw, Michigan A resident of The Toni & Trish House passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 following a courageous battle of Cancer. Michael Robert Schmidt was born on March 1, 1946 to the late Burt William Schmidt and Clara M. (Muehlenbeck) Schmidt. He married Phyllis Kay Roberson on March 26, 1988. Surviving are one daughter and one son. Sue (Greg Scooby" Berkompas) Wright, & Robert Lee Schmidt; One grandson Mark Wright Jr; his brothers and sisters, Barbara Holford, Virginia Cotter, Emily (Raymond) Allison, Melissa Schmidt, Bert (Sally) Schmidt, and Donna Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis; one brother and three sisters, Albert Pierce: Mary Muehlenbeck, Ruth Bishop, Sondra Holford; one Stepson David Holford, and a Son-in-law Mark Wright. In accordance with Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. There will be a graveside prayer service on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. where he and his wife Phyllis Kay (Robertson) Schmidt will be laid to rest. Michael would like to be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving person who always tried to look at the world positively, and who always had a smile and a great sense of humor. The family would like to especially thank all the care coordinators and volunteers at the Toni & Trish House and at Hospice Advantage, especially Theresa, for their generosity, gentle nature, and the care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the Toni & Trish House or Hospice Advantage/Compassionate Care.
