Michael “Mike” Scott Reimus of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, December 16, 2021. He was 52 years old. Michael Scott Reimus was born on May 9, 1969, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Gary and Ruth (Simmett) Reimus. He attended Saginaw High School. Mike met the love of his life, Tammy Lynn Jackson, through her brother while working on a Ford Mustang. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 15, 1991; she survives him. Mike was employed as a Hardwood Floor Technician with Quality Floor Sanding for over 32 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom picking, and participating in various adventure sports, especially ATV off-road sports. Mike was an excellent cook and loved grilling and smoking many foods for family and friends. He also participated in many soft ball leagues as third baseman throughout his life. Mike also enjoyed going to the casino to play the slots at Saganing Eagles Landing in Standish. Though he could be stubborn, He will forever be remembered for his selflessness to those he loved and for having a kind and compassionate heart. As Mike would always say, “Don’t worry about it, it’ll be alright.”
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Tammy Lynn Reimus of Saginaw; daughter, Alyssa Reimus and her fiancé, Brent Schmidt of Saginaw; son, Brendan Reimus of Saginaw; two grandsons: Braedyn and Ryder Schmidt; mother- and father-in-law: Harold and Nina Jackson of Saginaw; sister, Michelle (Dave) Schornick of Saginaw; brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Cheri) Jackson of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Cindy (John) Quintal of Saginaw; a nephew he took in as his own, Jordan Quintal of Saginaw; special uncle, Terry (Shirley) Reimus of Freeland. All of Mike’s nieces and nephews were very special to him, forming strong bonds with every single one of them at various times throughout their lives. Also surviving are many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
