Michael William Daleo, 72, passed away unexpectedly at Covenant Cooper Hospital on Thursday, June 1, 2017 due to a brain hemorrhage. He was born in Detroit to the late Dan "Chief" and Frances (Oddo) Daleo.
Michael served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He attended Michigan State University with gusto (somewhat tilted toward the non-academic side of college life) and completed his Sociology degree after honorable discharge from the Army. Michael, Patricia and their daughter Christina then made the Saginaw Bay Area their home. Michael retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections after 27 years of service. Michaels love of playing golf and being a Michigan State fan was only eclipsed by his love for his family and friends and the moments they shared.
He is survived by his spouse of 49 years, Patricia (Duncan) Daleo; his daughter and her spouse, Christina and Kent Sluga; a granddaughter, Sara; and a sister, Mary Hopkins.
Pursuant to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017, at the W. L. Case Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Military honors will be rendered under the auspices of VFW 7302. The Family will receive friends and share photos and memories on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Chapel.
The Family asks that those wishing to make an expression of sympathy consider a donation to United Service Organizations. https://www.uso.org/
