Our beloved husband, father, “Papa”, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend joined our eternal Father on Thursday, December 14, 2023, with his family at his side. At the age of 63 years.
The son of the late Mariano and Dolores (Zamora) Derige, Mike was on November 25, 1960, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a Crew Team Leader at Vlasic’s Pickle Company for many years of loyal and dedicated service. He was everyone’s handyman and mechanic all in one. He loved being with his family, his cars and caring for his furry friends. Mike was a loving husband, father, doting grandfather and devoted pet parent.
He leaves behind his wife Alicia Loprena Derige, sons Donald Dickerson, Miguel Derige, Jesus (Sarah) Derige, daughters Angelita Perez, Carmen (Mike) Velasquez and Ana (John) Derige, grandkids Esther "Lita", Daniel "Peanut", Kiara, London, Alejandra "Ally", Aliana, Amelia “Lola”, John Michael Jr. “Lil Papa”, Andrew “Poppy”, Emilio "Chulo", Mateo; siblings, Henry M Derige, Diana Psetas, Pablo Derige, his twin Lily Derige and Michelle Derige, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides his parents, Dolores and Mariano, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Carlos Derige.
Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N 6th Ave, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris OFM Cap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Mike will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass on Wednesday at the church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with W. L.
