Monica M. Bluemer

Bluemer, Monica M. Merrill, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare, age 90 years. Monica Corbat was born in Merrill, Michigan April 28, 1924 the daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Tighe) Corbat. She married Elmer Bluemer July 6, 1946. He predeceased her November 21, 1989. Monica was a member of Saint John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Church, Merrill. She loved dancing, playing cards and all church related activities. Monica is survived by five children, James Bluemer, Emily Bluemer (Carolyn), Dannie (Bob) Hickson, Peggy Pavlik and Louann (Mark) Gonzalez; nine grandchildren, Shay (Tony) Miroite, Evan (Amy) Bluemer, Jason (Jillian) Hickson, Joel (Katie) Hickson, Adam Pavlik, Sara (Ryan) Bush, Lisa (George) Lennox, Stacy Gonzalez and Rita Gonzalez; eleven great-grandchildren; four siblings, Elaine Irish, Erma Rohde, Bernice (Lyle) Tolfree and Richard (Yvonne) Corbat; many nieces, nephews and a special cousin, Donna Reichard; In addition to her husband, Monica was predeceased by an infant son, Kevin and a brother, Joe Corbat. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Church, Merrill. Rev. Fr. Duane Wachowiak will officiate with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church Friday from 3:00 8:00 p.m. where they may join the family for a parish vigil service at 5:00 p.m. Friends may also call at church Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
