Owen, Morris E. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the age of 85 years. He was born July 27, 1928, in Saginaw, the son of the late Alanson and Margaret (Head) Owen. He served with the US Navy during World War II. He retired from N & K Leasing in 1986, where he had been employed as a truck driver. Morris was a member of the Nazarene Church. He enjoyed woodcarving and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. He especially loved time spent with his great-grandchildren. On June 11, 1948, Morris married Dorothy Virginia Weighman, celebrating 65 years of marriage this past June. Surviving besides his wife, are their son and daughter-in-law, George and Polly Owen, Saginaw; six grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn and Sean Seabase, Shannon and Steve Ochoa, Ryan Owen and Tina, Scott and Amanda Owen, Karen and Paul DeJager, and Lori and Brian Burnell; fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers and their spouses, Elmer and Millie Owen, Lance Owen, Rolland and Florence Owen; his brother-in-law, Harry Wolff; many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by a son, David Owen, one sister, Emma Wolff, a brother and his wife, Charles and Betty Owen, an infant brother, Wallace, and a sister-in-law, Jean Owen. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, where his family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of service. Rev. Allen Sprunger will officiate.
