Morris E. Rice

Rice, Morris E. Saginaw, MI Passed away Tuesday, September 01, 2015 at the Aleda E. Lutz Veteran's Administration Hospital, age 92 years. Morris was born in Saginaw, Michigan December 25, 1922 the son of the late Morris C. and Charlotte (Owen) Rice. He married Ruth Kehoe December 12, 1942. She predeceased him June 14, 2015. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Saginaw. Morris served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the owner/operator and President of Rice Oil Company. He loved spending time at his cottage at Higgins Lake. He was a member of the Bay City Lodge F & AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Bay City and Saginaw Lodge #77 F & AM. Morris is survived by four children, Mickie R. Dana, Loren J. Rice, Barry W. Rice and Daniel C. Rice; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ella Anklam; a brother, Richard Rice and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Ruth, Morris was predeceased by a brother, Gary Rice and a grandson, James Rice. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Dr. Robert L. Emrich will officiate with entombment in Oakwood mausoleum where military services will take place under the auspices of American Legion Post #22. Friends may visit with the family Thursday at the chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where they may join the family for a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. They may also visit on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
