Nanabelle Buckey

Passed away peacefully on Monday June 24, 2019 at Close to Home Assisted Living at the age of 94 years. Nan was born on November 28, 1924 to the late Grover and Ethel (Spooner) Parks in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, class of 1941. Nan later married Donald Buckey on November 13, 1942 in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on August 11, 1994. She was a longtime member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Nan enjoyed crochet, bingo, and trips to the casino. She also loved to play cards, especially Euchre. Nan also took many trips to her favorite camping spot, Old Orchard Park in Oscoda. She is survived by her five children, Don (Diane) Buckey, Fred (Sharon) Parks, David Buckey, Tim (Ann) Buckey and Carl Buckey. Nan is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren and her sister- in- law Maxine Davis. Nan is preceded in death by her son Jim "Melvin" Buckey. She is also preceded in death by her four brothers, Merlin, Eldred, Clare and Anson Parks and her sister Marion Schneider. Funeral service will take place on Friday June 28, 2019 at 1:00pm at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8695 Gratiot Rd, Saginaw. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until the time of the service at church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Ascension Lutheran Church or the familys wishes. Friends and family are encouraged to wear blue jeans to the service to honor Nans favorite attire.
