Nancy Hammis

Passed away with her children by her side on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the age of 74 years. The daughter of the late Robert Dixon and Alice (Turner) Mason was born on January 4, 1942 in Saginaw. Nancy graduated from Arthur Hill High School- the class of 1960. She married George Hammis on May 18, 1963; he predeceased her on August 22, 2015. Nancy was a member of St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church. She enjoyed trips to the cottage on Townline Lake and gardening-particularly flowers. Surviving are her children: Todd Hammis, Amy (Larry) Meissner, Stephanie (Michael) Kitson, Jeff Hammis and Jodi Hammis; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Molly, Paige, Kaylee, Brennan, Kyle, Grace and Tyler; her siblings: Alice Pahssen, Barb Scott, Steve (Frieda) Mason, Sarah (Butch) Hepinstall, Michael (Brenda) Mason, many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church of Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
