Woodke, Nancy Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in Gilbert, Arizona at the age of 85 years. Nancy Lee Woodke grew up in Texas. After high school she joined the US Air Force and served as a corporal. She met her husband also in the service and moved to Michigan where she raised 3 children, worked at Mahar School in Spaulding Township and retired from the Bridgeport Township Water Dept. She was an elder in her church where she served as a Christian Educator and sang in the choir. She wrote poetry, yearned for Oregon and remained politically active. She is survived by her loving husband Richard and her children, Dana Cooper (Ken), Gevan Woodke (Helen) and Darren Woodke (Joann). She is also survived by her sister Francis Elliott and brother-in-law Ronald Woodke. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is missed by her family and friends. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Countryside Trinity Church, 4690 Weis St. Rev. Kenneth Parker will officiate with burial at Pinegrove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Friends may visit at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Countryside Trinity Church in Saginaw or to a favorite charity.
