Nathaniel Michael "Nate" Hopp of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 14, 2019. He was 33 years old. Nathaniel Michael Hopp was born on October 3, 1986, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a proud 2004 graduate of Heritage High School. Following graduation, Nate attended Delta College. Intelligent and quick-witted, he carried with him the profound ability to connect with everyone. He loved wholeheartedly and unconditionally to all he ever loved. Nate had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh with his quick wit. He loved to read and read hundreds of books over the years. Nate played baseball, soccer and football. Above all, he loved and cherished his family and friends; especially his two nephews.
Surviving are his parents: Michele and Doug Jahn of Saginaw; William Hopp of Sanford; two brothers and one sister: Nikolas Hopp of Saginaw; Michael Jahn of CA; Kristen Jahn of Grand Rapids; two nephews whom he loved playing and wrestling with: Mason and Corbin Hopp; grandparents: Carole Crovella of Saginaw; Dorothy Jahn of Saginaw; aunts and uncles: Michael and Susan Crovella of Saginaw; Tina and Rick Bowker of Essexville; Bruce and Cindy Jahn of Saginaw; Carol and Ned Cook of Saginaw; seven cousins: Gina Fisk, Jacob Fisk, Stephen (Stephanie) Jahn, Matthew Jahn, Rachel, Jenna, and Molly Cook. Also surviving are many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Crovella; grandfather, Robert Jahn; and great-grandmother, Beatrice Dreuth.
A funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019, at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn Street. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Nathaniel will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o Michele Jahn where an education fund will be established for his two beloved nephews.
