Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Senior Living, with her family at her side. At the age of 100 years.
The daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mabel E. (Rounds) Acker, Jean was born on February 24, 1924, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School. Jean gathered her Business Degree from the Saginaw Business College. She married the love of her life, Norman E. Krieg in 1953. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1994. Jean was an obituary and advertisement writer for the Saginaw Newspaper for many years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Jean enjoyed sewing and needle point work. Above all, Jean cherished the time spent with her family and loved ones.
Surviving is her son, James (Hope) Krieg; granddaughters, Ashton (Logan) Finley, Autumn (Prameet, M.D.) Bhushan; great-grandchildren, Faye and Odin Finley. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides her husband and her parents, Jean was preceded in death by brother Clayton (Caroline) Acker; and sister-in-law, Jean (Raymond) Allas.
Visitation will take place from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. A Committal Service will immediately follow at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Rev. Christina Schultz will officiate.
