Oliver Oscar Miller Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Monday, February 12, 2018, at Covenant-Harrison. Age 94 years. The son of the late Lucy Mae (Heiser) and Oscar Stephen Miller was born March 18, 1923 in Pekin, Illinois. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was a member of the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post 7302. Ollie married Irene Chritz, May 10, 1947 to which Ollie would say "Remember the day the 10th of May". His wife of 70 years passed away October 22, 2017. Oliver was employed by Dow Corning and later owned and operated the Oliver Miller Insurance Agency. He was a member of the Hemlock United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, bowler, enjoyed walking and playing the guitar and singing for his grandchildren. Surviving are her three sons and one daughter: Robert Miller of Florida, Ronald (Shirley) Miller of North Carolina, Steven (Susan) Miller, and Terry Miller (Ted) Kanuszewski; grandchildren: Robert (Leah), Kali, Justin (Gina), Erin (Ben), Julie, Chris, Dan, Brian (Summer), Joe (Rachel); great-grandchildren: Sophia Marie, Savannah Jean, Samuel Oliver, Emilia Irene, Eleanor Isabel, Olivia Lucia, Emma Jo, Natalie Ann, Sunni Michele, Meadow Rayne, and Forest Oberon; a sister, Dorothy Wiser, a brother, Robert (Phyllis) Miller; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, Floyd and Donald Miller, two sisters, Velma Lepley and Lorraine Jellison. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Michael Vollmer and Rev. Arthur Norris will officiate with Military burial in Richland Twp. Cemetery under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 7302. Friends may call at the Chapel from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral service.
