Patrick Harry Nohel
Merrill, Michigan
Beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the age of 69 years.
The son of the late William and Margaret (Beyer) Nohel was born on January 27, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a proud 1972 graduate of Merrill High School. After high school, Patrick would attend Western Michigan University and graduate in 1977 with a Bachelor’s Degree. He retired from GM after 30 years of loyal and dedicated service. Patrick was known by those around him as a kind and generous people person. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to music, fishing, hunting, NASCAR, watching Mayan’s softball team, was the Merrill Golf League Secretary, and member of the VFW in Hemlock. Patrick considered himself to be a life enthusiast and automotive professional. His love of music was shared by the staff at Masonic Pathways, where he came to reside after being a long time resident of the Merrill community.
Surviving are his siblings: Michael (Donna) Nohel, RoseMary Murgittroyd; five nieces and nephews: Adam (Kristen) Nohel, Amy (Chris) Pace, Maggie Murgittroyd, Burt Murgittroyd, and Rob Murgittroyd. Also surviving are many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his step-mother, Jeanne Mayan and a brother-in-law, Michael Murgittroyd.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Michael F. Steltenkamp S.J. will officiate with burial to take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case and Company, 125 E. Saginaw Street, Merrill, on Friday, July 7 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Masonic Pathways, St. John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or Merrill Public Library.
