Paul C. Cottle of Saint Charles, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at HealthSource of Saginaw. He was 85 years old. Paul Cameron Cottle was born on January 21, 1935, in West Branch, Michigan, to the late Myron Russell and Alice (Lathrop) Cottle. He married the love of his life, Burdeen M. Poole on August 28, 1954, in Standish, Michigan. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2017. Paul was a truck driver by trade and proudly owned and operated his own businesses over the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and later in life working on his yard. He will forever be remembered for his ideas concerning hard work, but he also loved to play, joke and tease. He had a can-do attitude that saw him through lots of building and fixing.
Surviving are two daughters and a son: Darlene R. Cottle of St. Charles; Daniel (Gwendolyn) Cottle of Shepherd; Doreen (Glenn) Bongard of Millington; four grandchildren, Amy, Jordan, Rachel and Joseph; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Martin (Joann) Cottle of Byron, Michigan and sister, Ruth (Dorland) Loomis of Winter Haven, FL; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Cottle of TN. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Paul Cottle; grandson, Phillip Paul Bongard; sisters, Frances and Emily Cottle, brothers Stanley and Robert Cottle.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Oakwood Cemetery, 6100 Gratiot Road. Joseph Bongard will officiate. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, face coverings are required and social distancing encouraged. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Brain Foundation c/o Gwendolyn Cottle, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan, 48603, and an aggregate donation will be made in Paul’s honor.
