Ecker, Paul Daniel Bridgeport, MI Loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at home at the age of 75 years. The son of the late Norman and Ronelda (Boille) Ecker was born on October 31, 1937 in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Europe during the Korean War. He married Karen Kay Erzen on August 24, 1963, she survives him. Paul retired in 1992 as a skilled trades foreman at plant #6 at Saginaw Steering Gear (GM). He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #22, Kosciuszka Club, Bridgeport Gun Club, the Eagles Club in Manistique. Paul enjoyed spending time at his cabin on Indian Lake, hunting, fishing and golfing. Surviving besides his wife, Karen, are their children; Greg (Kerri) Ecker, of Midland, MI; Dave (Renae) Ecker of Standish, MI; grandchildren, David, Sydney, Jordan Ecker and three step-grandchildren; Jackson , Jeff and Jamie, one great-step grandchild Jason, a sister, Marilyn (Tom) Stalsberg, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Laurence Ecker and Duane Ecker, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Otto and Martha Erzen. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 6065 King Rd. Bridgeport. Rev. Rachel Laughlin will officiate with miltary burial at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of American Legion Post 22. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
