Peggy Ann Beckman of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, December 18, 2021. She was 60 years old. Peggy Ann Thomas was born on December 19, 1960, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late James Dale and Marlene Ann (Claus) Thomas. She was a 1979 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. She met the love of her life, Russell Alan Beckman, while working as a waitress at the Texan on State Street. Their love story began with Russ trying to catch Peggy's attention by sticking is leg out of the booth to trip her. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 14, 1981, in Saginaw; he survives her. Peggy worked as a cocktail waitress and bartender at Stardust Lanes and as a manager at Burger King. Peggy's true calling was to help people and did this by becoming a CNA and caregiver. She was employed with St. Mary's Hospital and later with Tendercare of Frankenmuth. Peggy later worked with Canteen Services as a correctional food service manager. She enjoyed playing Bingo, but above all treasured and cherished her family. Peggy will forever be remembered for her selflessness to those in need, for always remaining a loving and caring soul, and for endearingly referring to everyone as "honey".
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Russell Alan Beckman of Saginaw; two sons: Michael "Mike" Beckman of Saginaw; Richard "Richie" Beckman of Saginaw; four grandchildren: Amber, Michael, Emma and Olivia Beckman; two great-grandchildren: Zayden and Mars; two sisters: Vickie (Gerald) Ginderske of St. Charles; Robin (James) Sherman of Saginaw; 1 sister-in-law, Terry Mitchell; 2 brothers-in-law, Leonard Clark of Hemlock; Raymond "Ray" (Donna) Klenke of TX; sister, Susan "Sue" Gerow of FL; a very special Goddaughter and niece, Skylyn Stack. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Beckman; two sisters: Penny Ann (Ed) Griffor and Mary Clark.
A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Fr. Kevin Wojciechowski will officiate. Honoring Peggy's wishes cremation will follow the service. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
