She was 73 years old. Pennie Rollene Fritz was born on July 1, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Rolly and Mary (Brown) Fritz. She was a proud 1966 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Pennie was also a 1986 graduate of the M.J. Murphy School of Cosmetology. She married the love of her life, Richard Dennis Fritz, on November 25, 2012, in Hoke County, North Carolina; he survives her. Pennie loved and adored children, which led her to own and operate her own in-home day care center. She also worked as a photographer for Life Touch Church Directories for many years. She was a lifelong, faithful, and active member of Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed playing cards with her sisters and brother, going to both rummage sales and flea markets, especially Shipshewana and Das Essance Haus. As a young lady and mother, Pennie and her family took yearly trips to the Indian Lake Nazarene Campgrounds in Vicksburg, Michigan. Pennie also enjoyed going out to eat, watching various American crime dramas, Jeopardy, and BattleBots. Above all, Pennie treasured and cherished the time she was able to spend with her husband, siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, Donnie. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and laughter, for always being content and seeing the positive in all situations, her silly and excellent sense of humor, and for love and affinity for family and all children.
Surviving are her husband of 9 years, Richard Dennis Fritz of Saginaw; two daughters: Michelle Wood of Saginaw; Kimberely Wood and her significant other, Joel Clapham of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Josephine (Donaven) Garza, Merry (Devin) Polak, Kaylee Ackerman, Daniel Ackerman, and Stephanee Ackerman; great-grandson, Donaven "Donnie" Garza II; two sisters and one brother: Judy (Jim) Perry of St. Charles; Bert (Joel) Shelden of Freeland; John Fritz and his fiancée, Trish of West Branch; brother-in-law, Dennis Sierakowski of Ithaca; best friend, Janet Camill of Saginaw.
