Passed away on Monday, September 18th, 2023, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 90. Pete was born in Saginaw County to Peter and Ellen (Baase) Boos on June 2nd, 1933, and graduated from Arthur Hill High School. After graduating, Pete was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1952 until 1955. Prior to his service in the Army, Pete married Nada Trinklein on January 31st, 1952, and the two would spend over 45 years happily married. She preceded him in death on May 26th, 1998. Through his working years, Pete was a machine repairman for GM Steering Gear and retired after over 40 years of service to the company. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 1859 in Carrollton and Post 3654 in Midland, and he held many offices and positions at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock. In his free time, Pete enjoyed staying active and spending time outdoors. He hunted and fished, as well as travelling around the United States, especially up North and out West. Pete also enjoyed playing cards and euchre was his game of choice. He is remembered as a devoted husband and loving father with a unique sense of humor.
Pete is survived by children Tom (Maggie) Boos, Barbara (Lou) Garchow, Todd (Rebecca) Boos; grandchildren Thomas (Christine) Boos, Jacob (Emily) Garchow, Nick (Lindsay) Garchow, Andrew (Tori) Garchow, Sydney (Erik) Smith, and Piper (Eric) Yingling; granddaughter-in-law Annette Boos; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother Bernard (Flossie) Spencer; sisters Ellen Nuerminger and Jacklyn Jackson; and sisters-in-law Marilyn Trinklein, Joann Trinklein, and Carol Boos; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Pete was preceded in death by grandson Jason Boos; brothers Robert (Lorraine) Boos and William Boos; brothers-in-law Jack Nuerminger, Billy Jackson, Staff Trinklein, and Tom (Dorothy) Trinklein; and sisters-in-law Edith (Jacob) Schanhals, Phyllis (Carl) Bluemer, and Lois (Don) Spindler.
In accordance with Pete’s wishes, cremation is to take place. A private committal service will be officiated by Rev. Richard Mundt, with military honors rendered by the United States Army and VFW Post 7302.
