Peter Brian Lorence of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved partner, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was 49 years old. Peter Brian Lorence was born on January 9, 1972, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Marilyn Ratliff. He was a proud 1990 graduate of Kirksville High School. Following graduation, Peter attended college where he studied business. He met the love of his life, Ted Edward Doyle, on November 15, 2010, in Florida. Together they moved to Saginaw the following year to begin their next adventure. He was employed with Best Western Hotel in Birch Run for 10 years, which he loved, and he was actively involved in Birch Run Township government. Peter had an innate ability to connect with people and socializing was one of his favorite things. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially Brittany Spears and Lady Gaga. Peter had an excellent fashion sense and was always dressed well ready for the occasion. He enjoyed shopping for suits and shoes, and tanning. Peter always wanted to look his best. Above all, he loved and cherished his time at home with his partner Ted. Peter will forever be remembered for his beautiful smile, indomitable spirit, and for the way his soul could light up any room.
Surviving are his lifelong partner of 11 years, Ted Doyle of Saginaw; mother, Marilyn (Mark) Ratliff of Kirksville, MO; two brothers: John (Mona) Ratliff and Jeff (Amy) Ratliff of Kirksville, MO; three nephews and two nieces: Jackson, Brody, Gabriel, Raven and Chloe Ratliff of Kirksville, MO; mother-in-law, Betty Doyle of Saginaw; five brothers-in-law: Chris Doyle of Saginaw; Mike (Lynn) Doyle of Saginaw; Rick (Mary) Doyle of Birch Run; Rick Saenz of Saginaw, Robert Elisech of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Bonnie Rubio of Saginaw; a special niece, Deanna Nigl of Saginaw; a dear friend, Michele Fent of Detroit. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Helen Lorence and Daisy Ratliff; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Saenz and Cathy Elisech.
A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. Rob Schmidt will officiate. Burial will follow at Spaulding Township Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
