Philip James Cook, age 56, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2024.
Philip was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on September 3, 1967, the son of the late Robert James Cook and Virginia Adoline (Dreffs) Cook.
He worked as a custodian at the Melvin G. Millet Learning Center, where his commitment and care for the facility were evident to all who knew him.
He had a profound appreciation for the simple joys in life. He found great pleasure in bowling and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and his loved ones.
Philip is survived by his two sons Matthew Cook and Robert Cook; his sister and her husband Cathy and Dave Baase; his dear friend Alicia Walkowski; God-children Daniel Walkowski, Britney Walkowski, Brianna Walkowski; and God-grandchild Madalynn Walkowski.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James Cook and Virginia Adoline (Dreffs) Cook; and brother Karl Cook and a sister Christine Cook.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Dwight Kingsbury will officiate the service with interment to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
