Phyllis J. Franz

Passed away Friday, December 13, 2024. Age 95 years. She was Born August 26, 1929, in Saginaw, to the late Elizabeth and Carl Hinte. 

Phyllis graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the class of 1947. She married Huber Franz in July of 1949. He predeceased her in April of 1982. Phyllis was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a long-time volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital (Covenant) with many years of service. Phyllis spent 12 years living at Higgins Lake before moving back to Saginaw. She loved going to the movies which continued her entire life. Phyllis was also an avid reader and loved her romance books.

She is survived by her three daughters, one son, and their spouses: Gail (David) Williams, Sandra (David) Meyers, Susan (Thomas) Lauria, and Gary Franz; 17 grandchildren: Mark (Suzanna) Williams, Lori (Bret) Stone, Brian (Rebecca) Williams, Christine (Jeff) Suess, Michelle (Neil) Gurley, Matthew Meyers, Michael Meyers, Kevin (MaryEllen) Meyers, Jill (Dominic) Nicosia, Abby LaRose, Adam (Amber) Lauria, Amanda DeLeon, Jay (Nicole) Lauria, Max, Sam, Kenzi, and Adeline Franz. Phyllis also leaves behind 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Per Phyllis's wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial to take place at Lyon Township Cemetery in Roscommon, Michigan with a celebration of Phyllis's life planned for later in 2025.
