Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper, with her family at her side; at the age of 83 years.

The daughter of the late Clifford and Martha (Nitz) Nusbaum, Phyllis was born on July 19, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Earl Junior Kastorf on September 13, 1958; he preceded her in death on October 6, 2008. Phyllis worked at the Saginaw Township Community Schools Transportation for many years of loyal and dedicated service. She enjoyed cooking, word-searches, scratch-offs or lottery tickets, and traveling; especially with Earl. Phyllis enjoyed playing Euchre with her life-long friends, Ed and Marie. Above all, Phyllis cherished the time spent with her family.

Surviving is her daughter and her husband: Kim and Brian Langhorne, Saginaw Township; her grandson: Braedon Langhorne; brother: Jimmie Nusbaum; sister-in-law and her husband: Shirley and Jim Mercer; two nephews: Jimmy and John; two nieces: Jennifer and Susan; and grand dog: DJ. Also surviving are many grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family and friends. Phyllis is preceded in death by her sister: Donna (Bill) Housner; two very dear friends: Irene White, Irene Sule.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Health Source, Covenant VNA and Covenant ICU for their kind and compassionate care of Phyllis.

Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48603. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, or Saginaw Area Concert Band.
