Frederick, Ralph A. Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Cartwright Hospice Residence, at the age of 86 years. He was born May 16, 1931, the son of the late Albert and Eleanora (Fiting) Frederick. He was Baptized and Confirmed at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Hemlock. He graduated from Hemlock High School in 1949. He met his future wife, Lois A. Frahm, at the Junior Farm Bureau. They were married August 2, 1958. Ralph loved to farm and loved everything about farming. He was a "farmer among farmers." He owned two Centennial farms. Additionally, Ralph drove school bus for Hemlock Public Schools and retired after 32 years of service. Ralph, Lois and their family enjoyed many wonderful trips, including tractor shows and crop tours. He also enjoyed his collection of toy tractors. Ralph and Lois were inducted into the Michigan Farmers Hall of Fame in 1995. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hemlock. He was also a long-time member of the Saginaw County Farm Bureau, serving on its Board of Directors for many years. He was a member of many church, community, and other organizations and committees. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois A. Frederick. He also leaves three children: Brian and his wife, Joann Frederick, Keith and his wife, Amy Frederick, and Brenda Frederick and her friend, Kathy Hartnagle; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Mackey; his aunt, Helen Wolfgram; brother-in-law, Dale and his wife, Bernice, Frahm; sister-in-law, Lois B. Frahm; many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Milton Mackey, Alvin (Helen) Frahm, Stuart (Lorine) Frahm, Carl (Connie) Frahm, Donald (Eleonore) Frahm, Dorothy (Basil) Wolfe, Arthur (Terrie) Frahm, Vernis (Duane) Welling, and Burton Frahm. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Road. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris and Rev. Richard E. Mundt will officiate with burial in Richland Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and then at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
